Deputy Minister recalled for MP

DEPUTY Education Minister Františk Tóth was recalled by the Slovak government January 26 after his party, the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO), asked the cabinet to do so, the SITA news agency reported.

The reason for what is believed to be just a temporary recall is that ANO wants Tóth to replace ANO's former MP, Viktor Béreš, in parliament, who left ANO citing arrogant behaviour by ANO leader Pavol Rusko as his main reason for leaving.

ANO, on the other hand, indirectly accused Béreš of corruption stating that the party had a letter from an unknown person confirming that Béreš had demanded a bribe from him. Béreš rejected the allegations and wants to defend himself against the accusation in court.
