Deputy PM Čaplovič addresses Slovak National Uprising anniversary

The Slovak National Uprising is one the most important milestones in Slovakia's history, says Deputy Prime Minister Dušan Čaplovič. This year Slovakia commemorates its 65th anniversary, the SITA newswire rreported.

Čaplovič is convinced that the event considerably influenced the beginning of the anti-fascist fight in Slovakia and advanced the steps of anti-Hitler coalition.

"The uprising, as an organized reaction against the ideology of evil and hatred, proved that Slovakia is able to defend its interests and democratic values even at the cost of human lives," he told SITA.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary, Čaplovič stated that humanity and justice are deeply anchored in Slovak citizens. Any signs of extremism or concepts motivated by hatred will be condemned in early stages, reads
