Prices of diesel in Slovakia should fall by 2.5 cents as of Wednesday, February 25, while petrol prices should remain the same, the Tankovanie.sk website has reported, as quoted by the TASR.
This should make the average diesel price around €1.055 per litre, close to the price for petrol, which should remain at €1.010 per litre.
“We can also observe this trend in other European Union countries, keeping in mind the differences in taxation, of course. The reason is the global economic crisis affecting the use of diesel more than that of petrol. The demand for diesel drops more rapidly than that for petrol, which reflects the significant drop in industrial and building production and is connected to the transport sector,” the website’s analysts explained.
