Due to the reconstruction of the railway line on the Slovak-Czech border, trains will not be operating on the Kúty - Břeclav section between October 13 to 25.
Trains will be diverted through the Holíč nad Moravou - Hodonín border crossing.
However, the reconstruction will directly affect the interstate Euro City (EC) Metropolitan trains operating on the Budapest - Bratislava - Prague line and back as there will be no direct connection and they will stop in Břeclav.
Czech Inter City (IC) trains will operate in the section between Prague and Břeclav. But there will be no connection to the EC Metropolitan trains to and from Bratislava and Budapest; except for EC 271, which is the only train that will go directly from Brno to Budapest via Břeclav, and IC 583/EC 283.
EC trains from Břeclav to Budapest will depart earlier, and in the opposite direction they will arrive later than the Czech IC trains. So passengers will not have time to change.
Slovak carrier ZSSK advises passengers to use the Railjet trains on the Prague - Břeclav-Graz line, from which they can change in Břeclav to the EC Metropolitan trains in the direction of Bratislava. Those travelling to Prague are also advised to board the Railjet line Graz – Břeclav – Prague (except for EC 270) at the Břeclav station.
Trains with secured transfer during the announced interruption:
at Břeclav station, transfer between trains IC 583 and EC 283 in the direction of Budapest
at the Hodonín station, transfer between trains EC 270 and IC 10270 in the direction of Prague
When travelling from Bratislava to Prague and back, passengers only need one ticket, which will also be valid for the transfer train in Břeclav (including Railjet).
Deflections of long-distance interstate EC trains will also affect passenger trains on the Kúty - Skalica line in Slovakia. From October 13 to 25, passenger trains on this route will be replaced by bus services.
