Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda today will ask President Rudolf Schuster to accept the recall of Telecom and Transport Minister Jozef Macejko, who the PM says is responsible for a suspicious tender for 35 locomotives for the state railways company.
The tender, which is not completed but apparently involved the selections of a bid almost Sk1 billion more expensive than any other, has further shaken the credibility of Dzurinda’s SDKÚ party. The PM’s brother, Miroslav, was the head of the tender commission.
