PRIME Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda claims that the opposition party Smer offered to cooperate with the PM's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) party.
On May 3 Smer's deputy chairman Pavol Paška met with Dzurinda.
Paška says that the meeting was in his capacity as head of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee about the European Constitution and insists that Dzurinda is lying, according to the daily SME.
Dzurinda said that Paška asked him whether the "blinds of mutual cooperation are completely drawn" and what the PM would think if Interior Minister Vladimír Palko and Education Minister Martin Fronc were recalled.
The PM says that he decided to make the meeting public after Smer's chairman yesterday described Dzurinda as a puppet in the hands of financial groups and criticized him for the fact that the PM has never explained who took over an Sk22 million (€560,000) SDKÚ debt.
