THE EUROPEAN Commission has proposed a grant worth €237 million (Sk9.5 billion) to Slovakia for the decommissioning of two nuclear reactors.
The proposed funding is part of a new budget plan for the period between 2007 and 2013, which is now being debated by EU member states, the TASR news agency reported.
During the accession talks with the EU Slovakia agreed that between 2006 and 2008 it would decommission the V1 unit of its nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice.
