IN ITS regular report on the quality of outdoor water sources used for recreation, the European Commission said that Slovakia's water was amongst the worst of all EU member states in terms of quality, the Hospodárske noviny reported.
According to the report, as many as 43.2 percent of the 67 inspected water sources in Slovakia - including water dams, rivers, and lakes - did not meet the minimum standards recommended by the EU.
Only 15 percent met the standards while another 22.4 percent met at least the minimum standards.
