THE EUROPEAN Commission (EC) has sent a warning letter to Slovakia, and seven other EU member states including the Czech Republic, for the inconsistent application of EU legislation in the area of telecommunications, the TASR news agency reported.
The EC pointed out in the letter that Slovakia still lacks a complete printed phone numbers directory, nor an information service with all the fixed-line and mobile phone numbers, as EU legislation requires.
The first warning may be followed by a second warning should Slovakia not take care of the problem within two months.
Ultimately the EC could sue Slovakia at the European Court of Justice.
