DESPITE PM Mikuláš Dzurinda delivering Jirko Malchárek's ministerial nomination proposal to the president on September 12, he will have to wait for the president's return from his working trip from USA for an answer.
President Ivan Gašparovič has not said exactly when he will confirm Malchárek's nomination as Economy Minister, the Pravda daily reported.
Malchárek is to replace the temporary Economy Minister, Ivan Mikloš, who is also the Finance Minister. Mikloš took over the running of the economy ministry after its former minister, Pavol Rusko, was dismissed. This followed disputes, both inside Rusko's ANO party and within the ruling coalition, involving promissory notes worth more than Sk100 million (€2.6 million).
