The number of women elected to parliament on Saturday, March 10, was 24 – only one more than the 23 female MPs elected in 2010. Women will constitute 16 percent of the new parliament.
The highest number of female MPs, 15, belongs to the caucus of the largest parliamentary party, Smer, which has a total of 83 MPs. Its women MPs are: Jana Laššáková, Renáta Zmajkovičová, Viera Tomanová, Magda Košutová, Darina Gabániová, Ľubica Rosková, Bibiana Obrimčáková, Jana Vaľová, Iveta Lišková, Anna Vitteková, Oľga Nachtmannová, Lea Grečková, Emília Müllerová, Maria Janíková and Svetlana Pavlovičová.
Ordinary and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO), which has 16 seats, will be represented by four women MPs: Erika Jurinová, Eva Horvathová, Helena Mazenská and Mária Ritomská. The Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), also with 16 MPs, will have two women in its caucus: Jana Žitňanská and Monika Gibalová. The same number will represent the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), out of its 11 MPs: Lucia Žitňanská and Magda Vášáryová. Lucia Nicholsonová will be the only women among Freedom and Solidarity's (SaS) 11 MPs. None of Most-Hid's 13 MPs are women.
