SMER party maintains its lead in the parliamentary elections in Slovakia held on June 17 after votes were counted in 97.96 percent of the election precincts.
According to the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic, Smer leads with 29.25 percent followed by the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union with 18.13 percent.
The Hungarian Coalition Party comes third with 11.85 percent followed by the Slovak National Party, which was outside the parliament during the previous election term, received 11.73 percent.
The Movement for a Democratic Slovakia received 8.72 percent followed by the Christian-Democratic Movement (KDH) with 8.3 percent based on preliminary official results, news wire SITA reported.
