The 10-day marathon trip is designed to highlight the scope of use of electric cars, according to Ľubomír Andrassy, spokesman for Bratislava mayor Milan Ftáčnik, who said 10 countries and 29 European cities are stops on the marathon.

"The group of electric cars includes a Porsche that can travel over 600 kilometres on one recharge and its performance is on a par with a car with a petrol engine," Andrassy stated, as quoted by TASR.

The cars will depart from Bratislava's Hviezdoslavovo Square on June 6 and travel to Vienna and Graz in Austria. The tour wraps up in Monte Carlo on June 10.
