ELECTRICITY, water and sewerage, gas, and heating prices will go up as of next year, the daily SME reported.
On average, gas prices will go up by 5.84 percent year-on-year, electricity by 5.02 percent, water and sewerage by 23.30 percent, and heating prices may go up by 15 or 16 percent, according to estimates.
The monthly expenditures in a regular household will thus go up by Sk211 to 278 (€5.5 to €7.3) per month, depending on individual regions. Heating prices are not included in this sum.
Analysts have no doubts that the price hikes will also have an impact on inflation. Economist Pavol Ondriska from ING DSS estimates that the inflation rate will go up to 6.3 percent, while Mária Valachyová from the VÚB bank estimates inflation at around 4 percent.
