Employment grew by 3.2 percent year-on-year in December 2011, according to Slovakia’s Statistics Office, with improvement in several monitored sectors, the SITA newswire reported.
The largest year-on-year increase in employment was reported in the information and communication technology sector, with growth of 12.1 percent, while employment in selected market services rose by 5.7 percent. The number of jobs increased by 4.3 percent in the industrial sector and rose by 0.8 percent in the retail sector.
Employment in the construction sector dropped by 3.5 percent year-on-year in December and fell by 0.1 percent in the wholesale sector. Sales and servicing of motor vehicles and accommodation sector reported no year-on-year changes in employment levels.
