Employment rose in many of the monitored sectors of the Slovak economy on an annual basis in September 2011, with the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) reporting that the information and communication technologies sector posted the largest increase in employment at 12.9 percent, the SITA newswire reported.
Year-on-year employment also rose in selected market services (+ 5.9 percent) and industry (+3.6 percent), SITA wrote, while employment shrank in the construction industry (-4.1 percent), wholesale sector (-0.2 percent), sale and repairs of motor vehicles (-0.1 percent) and accommodation (-0.1 percent).
On average 499,000 people worked in industry during the first nine months of this year and 450,900 of these employees were in the manufacturing sector.
