ACCORDING to the strategic investment plan introduced by Enel, the Italian power producer slated to buy a majority stake in Slovenske elektrarne, the company intends to build several new power stations. It will construct one new wind power station and a system of small water power stations on the Ipel River, the daily SME reported.
Enel also obliged itself to finish construction works on Mochovce nuclear power station and to modernize Slovakia's coal power station in Novaky. Enel promised to increase the output of the second block of the Jaslovske Bohunice power station as well.
Economy Minister Pavol Rusko is satisfied with the strategic plan. "We completed negotiations with the investor on Sunday," he said.
The total cost of the investment is expected to reach Sk74 billion (€1.9 billion). Part of the required investment funds will come from SE's own budget, with Enel providing the rest. Slovenske elektrarne does not expect to pay out any dividends until at least 2012.
