The public Slovak Television (STV) broadcast a report and discussion on bark beetles that was ordered by the Environment Ministry, the Sme daily reported on September 19.
The ministry paid almost Sk500,000 for the report, which presented no opinions that differed from the ministry’s.
MPs of all parties except the SNS Party - whose nominee leads the Culture Ministry - criticized the move, labelling it a failure of public-service television.
The STV Council and the License Council are already dealing with the case.
