EU entry plebiscite in June 2003

A referendum on Slovakia’s entry to the European Union will be held in June 2003, deputy PM Pál Csáky has said.

With support for entry running at between 70 and 80 per cent in recent polls, Slovakia has one of the highest public approval rates for the plan of the 10 countries thought likely to be issued an entry invitation this December.
