EU-harmonised inflation reached 1.1 percent year-on-year in September, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced on October 16. Average harmonised inflation for the 12-month period up to September amounted to 2.2 percent year-on-year.
The month-on-month figures in September were influenced mainly by downward price developments in food and non-alcoholic beverages (by 0.07 percentage points), in recreation and culture (0.03 p.p.), in furniture, household equipment and ordinary household maintenance (0.02 p.p.), and in alcoholic drinks and tobacco (0.01 p.p.).
Meanwhile, the following sectors increased the overall rate - accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.01 p.p.), clothing and footwear (0.02 p.p.), transport (0.02 p.p.), miscellaneous goods and services (0.02 p.p.), and education (0.05 p.p.), the TASR newswire wrote.
