EU-harmonised inflation stood at 0.5 percent in November

EU-harmonised inflation, measured by means of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, reached 0.5 percent year-on-year in November, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) reported on December 17.

EU-harmonised inflation, measured by means of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, reached 0.5 percent year-on-year in November, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) reported on December 17.

The average harmonised inflation for the 12-month period up to November amounted to 1.7 percent on an annual basis, the TASR newswire wrote. The month-on-month developments in the index were influenced mainly by price drops in the sector of food and non-alcoholic beverages (by 0.09 percentage points), in transport (0.06 p.p.), in furniture, household equipment and ordinary household maintenance (0.02 p.p.), in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.02 p.p.), and in recreation and culture (0.01 p.p.).

Meanwhile, the figures were influenced by increases in prices in health care (by 0.01 p.p.), in hotels, cafes and restaurants (0.01 p.p.), and in clothing and footwear (0.02 p.p.).
