Government Proxy for the introduction of the euro Igor Barát has said that the rounding-up of state benefit payments in favour of claimants cost €23.24 million, while an information campaign for groups designated as disadvantaged cost another €150,000.
However, the transition to the euro in early January was smooth and trouble-free at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Minister Viera Tomanová (Smer-SD) and Barát told journalists.
"The [ministry], although it hasn't praised itself much, prepared a multitude of projects, including education events for the unemployed, disabled, socially-disadvantaged, ethnic groups and so on," said Barát. TASR
