Similar results were obtained regarding most of the 13 countries applying for EU membership, with only one per cent of respondents saying they felt very well informed about enlargement and 91 per cent saying they feel no ties to candidate countries.

The survey was conducted on a representative sample of 16,000 respondents from 15 countries in January and February.
