In general, many Europeans are satisfied with the opportunities brought by the EU’s single market but 80 percent of Slovaks believe that the EU's single market offers more job opportunities, making Slovakia the most positive country in the EU, according to a Eurobarometer survey, the SITA newswire reported.
Slovaks are also the most optimistic about the positive impacts of the single market in stemming the negative consequences of the financial crisis, the SITA newswire wrote based on the survey results, with 52 percent of Slovaks saying that the single market helped alleviate negative impacts from the crisis.
The same number of Slovak respondents stated that the single market has improved their living standard. On the other hand, SITA wrote that most Europeans think that only big companies benefit from the single market and have the opinion that it deteriorates working
conditions and fails to provide benefits to the poor and disadvantaged people.
