The European Commission has said that Prime Minister Robert Fico needs to be mindful of the need for transparency when handling EU funds.
Katharina von Schnurbein, spokesperson for the Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Commissioner, said that Fico should not forget, with respect to EU co-financed projects, that it is not enough to take into consideration just the general rules but also basic principles of transparency, equal treatment and correct competition.
She was reacting to the prime minister’s recent statements about what the government believes constitutes cronyism and what it does not. Pravda daily
