THE SLOVAK Tourist Board (SACR) has launched another campaign on the sporting television station Eurosport to lure foreign tourists to Slovakia. It will last from July to September. Last year more than 60 million people in 54 countries saw the spot.
Under the slogan “Slovakia. Best friends forever”, SACR wants to promote the country as attractive year-round holiday destination.
“The spot will be broadcast more than 300 times during prestigious sporting events,” Martin Šebesta, spokesman for SACR, said, as quoted by the TASR newswire. This will include Tour de France and the European championships in athletics and swimming, as well as various car competitions and world championship fencing.
SACR picked the cycling races mostly because Slovaks, like Peter Sagan, are competing, the SITA newswire wrote.
“We chose the placement in sport competitions to address as much sports audience as possible,” head of SACR Marta Kučerová said, as quoted by TASR.
Eurosport broadcasts in 54 countries of the world, while 15 million people watch it every day, TASR wrote.
