Former head of the Slovak National Party (SNS) Ján Slota, faces criminal charges of bribery, the Aktuality.sk website reported.
In January , while driving between Porúbka and Lietavská Lúčka (northern Slovakia) Slota crashed his Porsche Cayenne into an Audi S6, which subsequently hit another car, a Suzuki SX4, and slightly injured the Suzuki’s 39-year-old driver . While 63-year-old former politician underwent hospitalization, he refused both a breathalyser and a blood test for alcohol, for which he was accused of endangering others under influence of an addictive substance.
In addition, witnesses explained that Slota offered money to the other party involved in the accident to not call the police. While the former politician rejects such allegations, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has submitted an accusation against Slota for bribery, with the threat of three-years imprisonment.

The district court in Žilina has already sentenced Slota for the accident with a six-month conditional imprisonment, a one-year conditional suspension and a six-year ban on driving. However, the verdict is not valid yet, Aktuality.sk wrote.
