The condition of information systems operated by the Financial Administration will be checked by experts from Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava. In particular, they are to make an audit of the recently launched but malfunctioning IT system of the Financial Administration and evaluate whether it needs to return to its old system, the SITA newswire reported.
The outgoing chair of the financial parliamentary committee, Jozef Kollár, who is one of a group of MPs currently overseeing the operations of the Financial Administration, said that members of a new expert group will be appointed by Wednesday, March 14. Kollár explained that STU had been asked to help as the group wanted to “receive the point of view of an independent third party”.
Outgoing Prime Minister Iveta Radičová said similar problems could arise in other state institutions if politicians did not change their attitude to such projects. She stressed that the problem starts with competition among subcontractors who typically change when each new government is appointed, SITA wrote.
“The whole problem starts with the fight between subcontractors,” Radičová said, as quoted by SITA, adding that each government has its own subcontracting companies.
