Dana Farkašová, the dean of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava, was elected to a place on the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Europe for 2007-10, the foreign affairs ministry's press department told SLOVAKIA on September 24.
This gives Slovakia a chance to participate in the UN body's decision-making processes in Geneva, Switzerland. Farkašová was elected at the 57th meeting of the regional WHO committee for Europe in Belgrade between September 17-20, with health ministers from the European WHO region attending. TASR
