FOREIGN direct investment (FDI) to Slovakia in 2005 increased by Sk20.123 billion (€537 million), the Slovak Statistics Bureau reported on March 24.
The corporate sector attracted Sk20.125 billion in investments, while banking sector FDI fell by Sk2 million during 2005.
The biggest investors in Slovakia for 2005 include South Korea, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands.
Slovakia's cumulative FDI at the end of 2005 was Sk417 billion (€11.12 billion), with Sk350.4 billion invested into the corporate sphere and Sk66.6 billion into the banking sector.
Dutch investors were in first place with Sk91.299 billion, followed by German (Sk81.887 billion) and Austrian (Sk61.35 billion) investors.
