Few Slovaks buy through Internet

ALMOST 95 percent of Slovak residents have no experience of buying things on the Internet. Only 5 percent of respondents to a GfK Slovakia survey said they had bought something on the Internet at least once, the Hospodárske noviny business daily reported.

Just 3.1 percent of respondents said they had bought something on the Internet more than once.

Slovaks who do use the Internet to buy things, buy mainly new entertainment gadgets. Approximately one-fifth of these also bought second-hand items on the Internet.

In Germany, approximately half the population uses the Internet to buy things.
