Few Slovaks living abroad register to vote by mail

Of the many Slovak citizens currently living abroad who no longer have a permanent residence in Slovakia, only 728 of them requested a mail ballot for the March 2012 early parliamentary elections, the SITA newswire reported.

Slovak citizens without an in-country permanent residence had until January 20 to request an absentee ballot from the Bratislava-Petržalka municipal office, as the Petržalka district has a special election precinct for Slovak citizens without permanent residence in Slovakia.
