Fico meets with mayor and activists about waste storage site

Mayor of Pezinok Oliver Solga and a civic initiative protesting a proposed new waste storage site in the town said that they were full of optimism after meeting Prime Minister Robert Fico on February 25, the TASR newswire wrote.

"We agreed that we're not going to turn this into a political problem," said Solga after the meeting, adding that Fico has promised to monitor the situation.

The initiative handed in documents to the PM covering the whole development of the project, as they assumed that the government didn't have exact information when it discussed the case.

"I consider the information (that the government had at its disposal) to be incomplete and biased," said Zuzana Čaputová activist with the Waste Heaps Do not Belong in Towns civil initiative.
