ROBERT Fico, chairman of the opposition party Smer, is still the most trusted politician in Slovakia, according to an April poll conducted by the Statistics Office's Institute for Public Opinion Research.
Fico enjoys the trust of 24.9 percent of Slovak citizens: up two percentage points from March, SITA reported.
President Ivan Gašparovič ranked second with 15.9 percent, which is three percent less than in March. The third most trusted politician is the leader of the Hungarian Coalition Party, Béla Bugár, with 12.3 percent.
Opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia leader and former Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar was fourth, trusted by 10.2 percent of respondents.
