Coalition Smer-SD chairman and PM Robert Fico told journalists on November 28 that his party regretted the coalition crisis, which had wasted valuable time and energy.

Fico added that immediately after action was taken on the SPF, ĽS-HZDS leader Vladimír Mečiar lashed out in revenge against Smer-SD and its representatives.

"Therefore, we convened the special Coalition Council session, at which I very clearly said that we would never condone scandals concerning state property,” Fico said. “As well, we won't condone acts of revenge, or the sabotage of the Coalition, as Mečiar is evidently organising along with Dzurinda (the SDKÚ-DS leader and former PM).”

Fico added that this comment caused Mečiar to stand up and leave the special session. TASR
