The new Coalition Council will hold a session as soon as this week, but the exact date has not yet been set, chairman of the Christian Democrats (KDH) Ján Figeľ said on Tuesday, July 6.

“We’ll certainly meet. This is not fixed, but I expect that, with the regard to the signing of the Coalition Agreement and the expected scenario of taking up powers in parliament and government, it’ll be important to hold a session of the four [party leaders],” said Figeľ, who will become minister of transport– a ministry that has been expanded to include, among other things, regional development functions.

According to Figeľ, the Coalition Agreement only stipulates which post belongs to which party and doesn’t specify individuals. “The names [of ministers] may change in the future: that’s life and politics,” he said.
