THE SLOVAK Finance Ministry received a 'Recognized for Excellence' certificate in Brussels on June 13 from the European Foundation for Quality Management.
Deputy Finance Minister Vladimír Tvaroška was in attendance to accept the award on the minsitry's behalf.
The Finance Ministry is the first central state body in Europe to receive the prize.
EFQM Deputy Director Melissa Rancourt said the award confirms the ministry is functioning effectively towards key target groups, including the government, business people, the public and employees, and is constantly analysing its activities and outputs in order to improve its operation.
EFQM is a non-profit membership organisation founded in 1988 by 14 top European companies with the support of the European Commission, SITA wrote. The organisation aims to achieve a level of excellence for its members' operations.
