Meeting the newly-set deadline for financial closure of the first public-private partnership (PPP) package depends on the results of final negotiations with the Directorate General for Regional Policy of the European Commission, the SITA newswire reported. The PPP is to be used to construct and operate five sections of the D1 highway between Martin and Prešov.
Slovakia’s Transport Minister Ľubomír Vážny told SITA on May 19 that he believes the first PPP package can be financially closed on May 28.
