First Roma compensated by Germany

JOZEF Balogh of Košice has become the first Slovak Roma to be compensated by Germany for being interned in a forced labour camp during the second world war. The 74-year-old received 7,500 German marks, about half of the total award, for the time he spend at Dachau from the fall of 1944 until it was liberated by the US army in May 1945.
