Thirteen air-traffic controllers paralysed Czech air space September 28 by refusing to work their morning shift. The partial strike, which was expected to last until October 1, caused the re-routing of dozens of flights which would have normally flown over the Czech Republic.
The director of Slovak Air Traffic Control Administration, Roman Biro, said that flights originating from Slovakia which were supposed to fly over the Czech Republic at altitudes over 7,450 meters have been re-routed over Poland or Austria. The air traffic controllers complained they were being asked to work too many hours of over-time.
