According to the daily the national anthem was played as the final tune in a programme which announced the best drama, actor and actress within the Seoul International Drama Awards. Slovakia was not represented in the contest.

“We are checking the facts, but if the record is authentic, anyone who watched it must admit that it was not discrediting. It (the Slovak anthem) was not misused,” the spokesperson of the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry, Peter Stano, told the SITA newswire, adding that organisers chose the anthem surely because they liked it.

“This is not a negative use of our anthem,” Stano said.
