Foreign minister attends Asia-Europe meeting

Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš has returned from the 8th meeting of foreign ministers of ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) member states. The meeting took place from May 28 to 29 in Hamburg, Germany.

"Slovakia is presiding over the UN Security Council committee set up to implement Resolution 1540 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,” said Kubiš. “I have given a briefing on the Slovak leadership of the committee and the progress made in the implementation of the resolution."

The meeting on issues such as the aforementioned non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the development of post-war Iraq was attended by foreign ministers from 27 EU-member states and 16 Asian countries.
