Foreign trade deficit improves

THE FOREIGN trade deficit reached Sk28.8 billion (€720 million) in the first nine months of 2004. September alone accounted for Sk3.6 billion (€90 million).

According to the SME daily, the September figures pleasantly surprised analysts as it represents a considerable improvement compared to previous months. The improvement stems mainly from an increase in car exports after the summer season.
