The foreign trade balance was in surplus in September, according to the data presented by the Statistics Office on November 9. The surplus reached €346.7 million, while in August it stood at €41.8 million. The cumulative nine month surplus increased to €2.592 billion, what is by €2.077 billion more than last year, the SITA newswire wrote.
The total export of goods in September rose to €5.552 billion which is by 8.4 percent more than in the same period of 2011. During the first nine months of the year the total export stood at €46.25 billion, a 10.8-percent rise compared to 2011.
The imports increased by 5.9 percent to €43.658 billion, SITA wrote.
