In Slovakia, a citizen of another EU state can also vote in the June European Parliament election, provided that they are over the age of 18 and hold permanent residence in the country.

However, they have to submit an application and declaration to be entered into the electoral register by April 29 at the latest. Otherwise, they will not be able to vote in Slovakia, but will still be able to participate in the elections in the country of which they are a citizen.

The application and declaration can both be found in a single document on the Interior Ministry website here. A voter will have to fill in personal data, including nationality, address and other details. In the declaration, they state, among other things, the last address of residence in the EU state of which they are a citizen, and that they were not deprived of the right to vote.

They will be registered in the municipality where they have permanent residence.

A foreigner will be able to vote for Slovak MEPs and vote in only one state.
