ĽUBOMÍR Jasovský, the Slovak health minister in the 1994 to 1998 Vladimír Mečiar government, shot himself on November 7.
His wife found him in their family house in Veľký Šariš in eastern Slovakia. He was locked in the house and was lying in a puddle of blood. He had a wound to his right temple and his 7.65 millimetre gun was lying on the floor next to the body, the daily SME wrote.
He was taken to a hospital but doctors could no longer help him.
The reasons for the believed suicide are unknown.
Javorský was 56 years old and since 1974 worked as a dentist. Later he became involved in politics.
