FOUR ambassadors nominated by the previous government have agreed to quit their jobs. Slovak Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš said that he would propose the recall of three of the ambassadors at the end of their regular terms, while in the fourth case the minister suggests an early recall.

The minister recently issued an appeal to all Slovak ambassadors abroad to resign from their posts if they felt they were political nominees. Ten ambassadors responded to the minister's appeal, but Kubiš decided to withdraw only four from their jobs.

The Foreign Ministry is refusing to disclose the names of the recalled ambassadors until the country's top authorities approve the dismissals, the ministry's press department announced on November 20.
