FRENCH companies are interested in investing in Slovakia, particularly in the energy sector, France's Minister of Industry Patrick Devedjian told Slovakia's Economy Minister Pavol Rusko at a session in Paris on March 22.
French firms, Devedjian says, would like to be part of the privatization of generating plants and energy distributors, the TASR news agency reported.
French energy firms are already present in Slovakia. Gas de France, together with Ruhrgas (Germany), owns a 49-percent stake in SPP (Slovakia's gas utility). Another French investor, Electricite de France, controls a 49-percent share of Slovakia's energy distributor, Stredoslovenská energetika.
