Frequency of Bratislava-Košice flights to increase during Ice Hockey World Championship

Slovak airline Danube Wings is to enhance its regular line connecting Bratislava with Košice between April 29 and May 9, when the Ice Hockey World Championship is to be held in both cities, the SITA newswire wrote on February 15.

In addition to its existing morning and evening connections, the airline will provide an extra 14 flights on weekday afternoons during the championship, Danube Wings spokesman Ľudovít Tóth told The Slovak Spectator. Fans and members of the organising committee will be able to get from Bratislava to Košice and vice versa in 60 minutes. The air carrier said it is experiencing increased demand for flights between Bratislava and Košice (which are over 300 kilometres distant by air) on dates during the championship.
