A member of the Bratislava-based Sýkorovci criminal gang, Martin Hrabárik, aka Schnitzel, who was threatened with death by other gang members will spend 11 years in a medium-security prison after his conviction by the Specialised Criminal Court, the TASR newswire reported on Tuesday, January 15, citing court spokesperson Katarína Kudjaková.
After receiving the death threat Hrabárik struck a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty. He was convicted of destroying the interior of the Patagonia pub in Bratislava, property in Dunajská Lužná (Bratislava Region), the kidnapping of a businessman, membership in an organised criminal group, and torture. The trials of the other alleged gang members, who are still in custody, are pending.
